How Much Does Slay the Spire 2 Cost?

Slay the Spire 2 is priced at $24.99 USD for the Early Access version on Steam. Mega Crit has confirmed the price will go up when the game reaches its full 1.0 release, expected sometime between 2027 and 2028. Purchasing during Early Access locks in the lower price — you will receive all future updates through to 1.0 and beyond at no extra cost.

For comparison, the original Slay the Spire launched at $15.99 during Early Access and increased to $24.99 at full release. A similar price bump is expected for the sequel.

Editions & Regional Pricing

There is currently only one edition of Slay the Spire 2 — no deluxe or collector's editions have been announced. Steam's regional pricing is fully supported, so the actual price in your local currency may vary. Check the Steam store page for your region's price.

Steam (PC, Mac, Linux)

Slay the Spire 2 is available now on Steam with support for:

• Windows — Full support at launch
• macOS — Confirmed at launch (announced in the February 2026 Neowsletter)
• Linux — Full native support

The game runs on the Godot engine (the original used LibGDX), which provides improved cross-platform compatibility and performance. System requirements are modest — if you ran the original Slay the Spire, you should have no issues with the sequel.

Steam Deck

Slay the Spire 2 is Steam Deck Verified, meaning it runs natively without any tweaks. The turn-based card game format is a natural fit for handheld play — the original was one of the most popular Steam Deck titles, and the sequel carries that same portability advantage.

PS5 & Xbox

No PlayStation 5 or Xbox versions have been officially announced for Slay the Spire 2. However, the original game eventually came to PS4, Xbox One, and their next-gen counterparts, so console ports are widely expected after the full 1.0 release.

Mega Crit has not ruled out console versions — they simply have not committed to a timeline while the game is in Early Access on PC.

Nintendo Switch

Co-founder Casey Yano has publicly expressed interest in a Switch port. In the February 2026 Reddit AMA, he stated: "We'll definitely be optimizing the game enough to run on the Nintendo Switch. Porting work is happening during Early Access so nothing is set in stone yet."

The original Slay the Spire was a massive hit on Switch, so a port is highly likely. No release date has been given.

Mobile (iOS & Android)

Slay the Spire 1 was extremely popular on mobile — it was named Apple's iPad Game of the Year in 2020. Mobile versions of Slay the Spire 2 are expected eventually, but Mega Crit has not shared any timeline or confirmed development. Given the sequel's expanded graphics and co-op multiplayer features, a mobile port may take longer to optimize.

Cross-Platform Play & Saves

Cross-platform play has not been confirmed, as there is currently only one platform (Steam). However, Mega Crit has indicated that cross-platform saves are on their roadmap — the ability to seamlessly switch between devices while keeping your progress.
